Buzzin' Buddies at LYA 

LYA students in grade Kindergarten through Eighth grade are paired up and meet weekly on Mondays.  The first half of the year Buzzin' Buddies meet from 11:10 a.m. -11:30 a.m.  In January 2012 they will meet from 3:00 .m. - 3:20 p.m.  This year LYA will be integrating The Leader in Me into the Buzzin' Buddy Program.

The goal of “Buzzin' Buddies” are:

1. To build community within our school

2. To foster mentoring friendships between older and younger students

3.To provide situations for older students to become peer role models

4.To provide students with a sense of self and importance

5. To provide students with fun activities that strengthen the character trait of the month
