NEASC Accreditation
NEASC ANNOUNCEMENT 2000
In 1997, under the leadership of a dynamic team composed of faculty, administrators, parents and community members, LYA undertook a complete review of its entire educational program. The goal was to focus the school so that it could respond directly to the changing educational needs of children and families with the Greater Springfield Jewish community. As a result of this review, LYA became the first Jewish day school in New England to seek and achieve accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
The New England Association of Schools and Colleges serves the public and the educational community by establishing and maintaining high standards of educational excellence through self-evaluation and peer review. NEASC serves both colleges and K-12 schools throughout New England and in areas outside of the United States.
The work undertaken during the intensive two and one-half year accreditation process was rewarded in March 2000, when after an extensive evaluation of the entire school, NEASC voted to accredit LYA as its first Jewish day school member.
