2.jpgTu Bishvat is on its way and our tiniest students spent time this week preparing for the New Year for the Trees. They began with a Sammy Spider story that illustrates the life cycle of the tree during the four seasons of the year.

As we are in winter, the children discussed what the trees look like right now. They designed their own winter tree with bare branches and few leaves. The children played with their trees and then took them home.

1.jpgIn Israel though, spring is beginning and the trees are beginning their growth cycle again. The children enjoyed using fruit to create a palm tree that one might find in Israel. These trees did not last very long, as the children enjoyed eating them.

Happy Tu Bishvat!!
