And to think I saw it on Converse Street!!

ilana.jpgDr. Seuss and his literature have come to life at LYA. There were sightings of the Lorax, Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 & 2 in the early childhood classroom this week. It was loads of fun to design and act out the characters using popsicle masks.

Math time a la Dr. Seuss had students measuring their feet after reading The Foot Book. The children went fishing for Red Fish and Blue Fish. Counting hats was a big hit and the students even had more hats than the Cat in The Hat.

mayer.jpgDr. Seuss books moved into science. There was fun with oobleck after reading Bartholomew and Oobleck. Children enjoyed making with the Cat in the Hat slime. Crafts included Lorax paper plates, Horton Hears a Who hand printing and Fox in Socks craft.

Our students truly know and believe A person's a person, no matter how small. Thanks to Dr. Seuss our tiniest treasures are feeling very tall.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!!
