Landing in Israel was very smooth. There is no airline like .El Al. Besides great service, where can you find washing cups in the bathroom? Where else are men able to meet for minyanim and kaddish can be heard across the plane? Where else do people clap upon arrival in the Holiest Land in the World.
Our entry into Israel was a huge reminder that there are still hostages held in Gaza. As we took some of our first steps we respectfully walked past the posters and displays lovingly arranged at the airport. We continue to daven each day for their immediate release.
After shacharis at the airport we met Mickey Katzburg and Nitzan Ovadia. Morah Kosofsky presented Mickey with a special gift she made for him symbolizing all he does for LYA. Nitzan was presented with an LYA mug as a memento of our school.
